Tonnta was born from a quiet moment in Japan, in a small pottery studio where people gathered to paint, unwind and connect.

Our studio is designed with the ocean in mind, calm, beautiful and full of energy. From the colours on the walls to the flow of the space, everything is inspired by the sea. It’s a place to feel relaxed, playful and connected, whether you’re painting a simple mug or designing something bold and bright.

Tonnta is more than a pottery studio, it’s a creative experience. Every piece you paint is glazed, fired and finished with care, ready to be part of your everyday life.

The experience was simple, social and full of joy, a space where creativity flowed without pressure. It sparked an idea: What if a space like that could exist at home?

Tonnta is the Irish word for waves, and just like the sea, creativity flows in waves. We wanted to create a place in Blackrock where people could slow down, gather with some friends or come in on their own, and let that wave of imagination carry them.

Meet the artist

Tonnta was founded by Sinéad Walsh, a young artist and creative spirit with a lifelong passion for both art and the sea. The ocean has always been her place of inspiration, and it was natural that the rhythm of the waves would shape her vision for Tonnta.

Her dream was to create a space that feels both inspiring and relaxed, where creativity isn’t about perfection but about play, expression and joy.

Our Space – Wave inspired, calm, beautiful and full of energy.

Our Promise – Every piece is glazed and kiln fired with care, so you can take home a lasting reminder of your creative time at Tonnta.
